During our workshops, you will practice writing portions of song and lyrics with guidance from an expert host. You will get group feedback and advice, which will help you continue to cultivate ever-growing skills in songwriting. Whether you’ve already written several songs or are a complete beginner, you are welcome here!

About Your Teacher

This series will be taught by Victoria Sol, a vocalist, songwriter, and music educator from Miami, FL. She studied literature, cultural history, and music at UC Berkeley. Her passion for songwriting comes from her lifelong love of poetry, music, and storytelling. She currently facilitates a weekly songwriting workshop with other musicians and songwriters that serves to encourage community, self-discovery, and creative practice. She is an active part of the music and dance community in Miami where she participates in Miami Bloco as well as the many afro-diasporic drum and dance offerings in the city, in addition to gigging regularly with fellow musicians around town. With a repertoire that ranges from jazz, soul, pop, rnb, boleros, bossa nova, and flamenco, to Jewish and Mediterranean folk music, Victoria is influenced by many different musical cultures.
