Presenting your original music can sometimes feel like a vulnerable experience. As creative artists, we put significant thought and care into cultivating and honing our works. When those songs become expressions of ourselves, it can be daunting to present them to the public.

In this Masterclass, you’ll get feedback on performing your original music. You'll work directly with a teacher who will give you advice on how to present what you’ve created in front of an audience. You’ll be coached 1-on-1 and your fellow songwriters get to watch and learn. You’ll hear everyone else perform their original songs and get to witness the feedback they receive as well. It's an open, positive, and supportive learning environment that everyone can benefit from. This kind of feedback can be used to improve confidence when it comes to future presentations of your original music.

This Masterclass will be led by Nicolle Garcia. Nicolle is a passionate and expressive Nicaraguan-American singer whose vibrant nature radiates through her angelic voice and musical performance, captivating her audience with a magnetic energy. Jazz is at the core of her fundamental roots and continues to inform her approach to all music, including that of Latin-American folk from Central and South America, Afro-Cuban jazz, and Spanish tangos and flamenco. Nicolle's playfulness takes listeners on a journey through her Latin heritage inspired by Miami’s diverse culture. She performs original music and popular standards in the style of reverent folk, lively danzóns, energetic salsa, and heartfelt boleros. Garcia’s fearlessness to wear her heart on her sleeve and combine musical genres influences her life-inspired songwriting and uniquely recognizable sound. In 2021, Nicolle graduated with a B.A. in jazz vocal performance at the University of Miami Frost School of Music where she studied jazz composition, improvisation, rhythm synchronicity, and vocal pedagogy. Nicolle has been leading her private teaching studio since 2017, and her bright spirit and unconventional teaching style prompt her students to find their artistic voice and confidence through every lesson.
