Our Live Music Series features incredible musicians from our community:

Join us this Sunday for a night of jazz and original tunes by the Diego Melgar Trio. This local Miami group is known for their unique palate that combines traditional jazz repertoire and music from the Chicago dance scene. This group curates sets of high energy music that will have you dancing in your seat! 

Diego Melgar, guitarist and Miami native, is a fixture of Miami’s live music scene. Having studied jazz guitar at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, Diego now explores a wide range of styles and sounds. He’s influenced by artists such as Thelonius Monk and Sun Ra, and has a passion for improvised music. Diego has taken his varied groups through a slew of venues from iii Music Festival to Floyd Miami.

Marty Quinn, a Chicago native, is the trio’s bassist and a recent graduate of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music Jazz Pedagogy program. In addition to being an avid performer, Marty is also an active music educator in Miami.

Gibb Mandish, the group’s drummer, is an Arizona native who came to Miami for his Masters in Jazz Performance at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Also an active educator and performer, Gibb has toured internationally and is currently a staple of the Miami jazz scene.
